Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you. Please note: that we don’t routinely contact patients about normal test results or those not requiring further action. We will contact you regarding any abnormal test results that warrant further action.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- in your Patient Access account
- by sending us an Online Request
- phone us between 11.00am – 4.00pm and we will tell you what the results are
How long will it take for my results to come back
Please be aware that although routine blood test results may be back within a couple of days, they can take up to 10 working days to be processed. X-Ray and Scan results up to 14 days to appear in your medical record.
Questions about your results
If you want to talk to someone about your results, fill out an Online Request or phone the practice and reception team will assist you.
Still unwell and not heard anything about my test results
If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of having your test or investigation and have ongoing symptoms you are concerned about, then please contact the practice again to tell us about your ongoing symptoms via Rapid Health or by calling the practice between 11.00am – 4.00pm. This is so we can assess whether any further action is needed. Please do not contact us before 2 weeks, unless you have reason to believe your symptoms have become more urgent as the extra demand these enquiries create impacts on our ability to deal with urgent queries quickly.
